20th EDITION OF THE TUNISIA INVESTMENT FORUM

TUNISIA, REFORMS AND COMPETITIVE VALUES

23 / 24 JUNE 2022

About TIF 2022

Invest in Tunisia Agency – FIPA-Tunisia  – is organising the 20th  edition of the Tunisia Investment Forum (TIF), on 23 and 24 June 2022 in Tunis under the aegis of the Ministry of Economy and Planning and in partnership with the World Bank and IFC.

The TIF, the leading economic event in Tunisia dedicated to international investment and innovation, is the multi-sector and business venue for all economic operators looking for a competitive location. The 2022 TIF will celebrate its 20th edition as well as the 50th anniversary of the promulgation of the law of April 1972 on the offshore regime which contributed to enhancing the presence of foreign investment and exports and to highlighting Tunisia’s role as a platform in the Euro-Mediterranean area. The Event will be an occasion to launch a new country-branding for Tunisia.

This anniversary edition will be held over two days with an opening ceremony on Thursday, 23rd June 2022 culminating in the distribution of awards and with thematic sessions on Friday, 24th  June 2022 on the measures and mechanisms taken recently to improve the business environment. Under the theme “Tunisia, reforms and competitive values”, the purpose of the Forum will be to highlight the latest advances in the business environment and to present, through the testimonies of operators, the priority activities that make Tunisia an innovative and sustainable base for international companies. The organisation of the various sessions will also allow the participants to learn about the consultations between the public and the private sectors that were conducted to improve the competitiveness of specific sectors and to seize the opportunity to set up Tunisian-foreign partnerships through networking sessions. An electronic platform will thus be dedicated to the organisation of targeted multi-sector meetings between Tunisian operators and their foreign counterparts in order to optimise the latter’s visit to Tunisia.

The Forum will also be an opportunity to present a new mechanism (Project Development Facility) for the preparation of public-private partnership investment projects, supported by the Compact with Africa (CwA) Multi-donors trust fund managed by the Workd Bank.

The Compact with Africa MDTF is providing support on three main windows:

A key role undertaken under Window 1 is to assist the CwA Task Force to monitor and report ongoing TA activities and to ensure that these contribute to the achievement of the policy actions in the Tunisia CwA policy matrix. This requires a monitoring and reporting system to keep track of various reforms and its results.
    • Window 2: Technical Assistance to ministries and agencies implementing CwA related reforms.
The MDTF is supporting on a demand driven basis the implementation of reforms within the three sets of frameworks of the CwA policy matrix: macroeconomic framework, investment framework and financing framework.
